The Hoopoe is one of my favorite birds and I used to see them all the time when I was younger on the farm that I grew up on. They are often not very photogenic but this one struck a good pose for my drawing
- Scientific name: Upupa africana
- Found in forests, savanna and gardens mostly in Southern and Eastern Africa, but also in the southern half of the DRC and Saudi Arabia
- Hoopoes do not make conventional nests like many other birds but rather look for holes in tree trunks to lay their eggs
All prints are individually signed by the artist. They are mounted with a black core mount-board and a solid backing board and are therefore ready to be framed. A bright white Colotech+ paper is used and the inks are archival. Picture sizes include the mount board.
